I bought this combo USB switch panel that fits perfectly in the upper accessory power panel on the Ex. I'm wondering if it is safe to use the OEM power outlet wiring to supply the USB ports and two switches. The switches will operate accessories USING RELAYS IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT, so theoretically they have low current draw. The obvious alternative would be to run a new power and ground from the battery.
I think that triggering 2 relays and powering 2 USB outlets should be well within the power range of the factory wiring there.

Thanks, I agree but sometimes it's nice to have another opinion.
I will definitely be posting picture of this and other future enhancements.
This thread just reminded me of something similar I did and lost track of. I was dealing with a crunchy dash bezel and went this route.
Now I have usb for days, a power port just in case, and the switch is there to turn the panel off when not in use.
That spot isn't really square, more of a trapalellazoidagram with a curved surface. The panel I used needed some trimming top and bottom to fit.
If I didn’t have a bunch of leftover wiring from my father-in-law, who used to install and service elevators and escalators, I would have used that wiring, maybe.
They look to be similar in gauge, but I don’t have clue as to what that is. I didn’t have the patience to measure them. For each wire, you also need two (2) but connectors, which I was running low on. Another couple of reasons I didn’t use them.
If someone knows that gauge, that would be helpful.
Nice switches.
Mine are very similar.😜
