That would work if we had a de-coding ring to figure what that number means.
Still dose not tell us what transmission as it makes a difference.

From your other thread we know that you are installing an unknown engine in your truck. More importantly, what transmission do you have? When mixing and matching, one common problem is using the correct starter with a compatible flex plate or flywheel.
There is about a 10mm difference between starters for standard transmissions and automatic transmissions. That could be your issue.

As we can see the part number on the starter " D2AF-11131-GA and when search on web, it seems to be an automatic starter.
I Found also this picture on the web:
This picture should show us the optical difference in between a/t or m/t.
So.....
If we look at my starter :
It seems to be a starter for an automatic transmission....
That's why my topic is asking if this is a BENDIX issue or something else? (So far we can see on the pictures)
I'm not an mechanicguy or experienced in this kind of technic.. maybe a bad beginner or a rookie..
but please let's keep our heads up.
PS. I ordered a new Bendix and it's now on shipping oversea.

You still have not posted which transmission you have, the book shows listing for both.
you show a picture of your starter ( commonly used in the 70's and a picture from the web that was fazed In sometime in the 80's) they are different. To be able to help the questions need to be answered.
Need to know motor, transmission, year of both.
