You guys wouldn't have that problem with my family if we moved to your State... Believe me.

I like boats but not that much. But that's coming from a guy where the boating season is short. Read my last post to Troy...

I love California but my politics don't fit in here. It is sad that I have waited this long to make this move but the wife and I have had enough. There is some freaky crap going on here and they can have it.

The gal who ran into me had an out of state area code on her phone. Of course lots of people now keep their old phone # since there is no long distance anymore.. Same is true for the guy in front of me that I got pushed into. Of the three of us, I was the only person with a Utah area code.

I was in the school friday doing punch list items. A teacher asked me to put up a book case and some shelves for her. Asked her where she was from, Just moved here from Chicago. Another teacher walked in room and she was from NY. We are being flooded with folks from out of state.

I can see where you are coming from there. Might have to have an ice-breaker cruiser or runabout! Damn shame a group of people can ruin a whole state. We've traveled through parts of NY on our way to Cape Cod & Vermont. Beautiful scenery. Don't think I'll risk another jaunt up that way anytime soon. Same w/ Kalifornia. I carry a couple of firearms when we travel and don't want to risk getting pulled over in one of those states while packing. I don't think about stopping at the border, unloading, putting the weapon in one part of the car and the ammo in another. Hell, that's not even possible most of the time. The SUV doesn't have a trunk. WTF? We have friends that live in Bettendorf, Iowa. They asked us if we'd be interested in going to Chicago sightseeing. Evidently there's something to see there besides chaos & carnage. No thank you. If we wanted to see that we would've drove through Atlanta on the way up instead of going out of our way to avoid it.

I had to LOL a few months back before primary. A woman who works with my sister in law had moved from one of those high tax states to where my in laws live in IL and was complaining there were no Democrats on the ticket. My SIL told her, yep, and we want to keep it that way to keep the taxes down. The woman got so offended. I LMAO.

Can't tell you how much I appreciate living in our "Fly Over" state. We have our problems, but they are nothing like NYC or Chi town. I have no desire to see those parts of the world.

They put a ice boom up in the beginning of the cold weather at the mouth of the Niagara River with Lake Erie to prevent shoreline damage and the power water intakes from getting clogged up with ice further up the river. The lake is ready to go before it's actually warm enough to get out on a boat.

I'm going to be honest with you. There are a lot of cops like me who wouldn't eff with law abiding gun owners. If there's no arrest or no reason (in plain view) to get inside a vehicle, then a cop has no legal right to get into a vehicle if the owner refuses consent to search. Troopers and Sheriffs will ask if there's anything they need to worry about in the car, you could tell a white lie but if you keep it at the speed limit and all your stuff is valid, I wouldn't sweat it too much. Don't give them a reason to pull you over. Believe me, you'd be surprised at the number of POs who stand with the people. But it's not all of them unfortunately.

When you say carry, you mean concealed or a long gun? And yes, I would too and I have done so and will do so next time I travel out of state.

As to Chicago, yep... it's a schitt show. So is NYC, Detroit and all the other blue big cities. Hell, Buffalo ain't great and Rochester is way worse. I'd love to take the family to go see the 911 memorial stuff but it's not happening anytime soon.

As to scenery, there's plenty of trees and green in our state. We live in the hills south of Buffalo.

I think FL doesn't, or didn't earlier this yer, reciprocity with IL CCL, but also stated that as long as it is unloaded, as per same IL non CCL, then nothing to worry about, same with Georgia. So I just drop the mag, lock the slide open and thread the lock cable through. The ammo and mag can be in the same case as long as the cable is in place. The whole idea is that it takes effort and time to load, and less likely to be used in an incident. When I transport my AR, I remove the BCG and keep it wrapped up in a container, this way I can still carry full mags with it.

Yep, that AR is useless without the BCG.

I love to see a federal concealed carry license because getting all states on board with each other will never happen. So goofy that a privileged license such as a driver's license is good throughout the country but a Constitutional right to carry is not.

I love the attitude of Texas/Texans but triple digit heat is too warm for this dude.

Virginia has personal property tax on vehicles, boats, etc., it's a percentage of the trade-in value. This is paid every year for registration purposes. For instance, my boat registration in PA is $52 for two years however if I was in VA it's close to $1k for one year.

I have a friend who lives in Virginia Beach and he says the same thing. That is absolutely nuts. With the used car prices going higher this will hit everyone hard. Why cant they fix this. Seems a little unfair to me. I would never move there. So your are safe. LOL
