My 2009 F-250 has ~217,000 on it, and I was thinking of doing a full timing set, roller follwers, cam phasers, and the Mellings oil pump.
While I'm already this far into it, I was thinking I'd pop in some new cams as well. It's a work truck, so I'm not looking to go with something super nasty and lopey, but just something to wake it up and give some extra oomph to the midrange. Can someone give me some recommendations?
I might be under the wrong impression but doesn't the PCM affect or control much of the engine's performance, someone like Mike at Five Star Tunes might be a tremendous consultant in your quest for more mid-range torque. Back in the day we'd get that extra oomph from an "rv cam" out of the aftermarket cam grinders.
I don't really know, just asking as much as commenting, sorry if I'm intruding.
