I was digging through the dash trying to figure out why the wipers weren’t working and came across this module part number
that looks completely roast can anyone tell me what this is and what this does.
if this went bad could it cause the engine to seem likes its dying at random times? working on issue where when it gets to 3/4 of a tank it starts acting like its out of gas. any relation you think?
I haven't dug behind the dash on ford medium duty trucks, but it's common for medium duty trucks to have an idle-up feature to boost up the rpm to 1500-2000 to spin up PTOs and hydraulic pumps faster. Do you have a switch on your dash that does nothing? It might be your idle-up switch. On early 90's GMC medium duty trucks, their throttle bodies are kind of unique. The throttle cable goes to the throttle body, where it turns a potentiometer, that commands a servo to open the throttle. It simplifies the idle-up linkage, since it's just a digital signal at that point. I'm guessing ford does a similar thing, which might explain your throttle issues. Take a picture of your throttle body and post it here.
