Well took the truck for it’s first long hwy drive and….. we’ll it only lasted about 20 minutes before the truck just shut off no warning. Coasted to the shoulder, tried to restart the truck and just cranks. Waited roughly 30 minutes and she fired right back up. I tossed it in reverse and attempted to back up to the on ramp to get of the hwy. I made it about 200 yards and BOOM truck shut off again. Waited 20-30 minutes and started right back up. Backed up again, made it another 200 yards and it shut right off again. Checked the codes and P2623 (IPR open circuit) is what came up. Here is the gauges literally 5 minutes before this all happened. I was traveling at 75 to 80 mph for roughly 15-20 minutes when it happened.
I’ll be tearing into it today. My plan is to pull the IPR and see how it looks. As far as tracking things down I’ve not done much other than run the codes on the torque app. The truck has ran great around town and the numbers on torque have looked good. So I’m really hoping that a new Motorcraft IPR will be the fix.
Might also want to test the continuity of the wires. Sometimes there are issues with the connector. Sometimes there are wiring issues further up the harness under the loom/tape.

I will do that. Thanks for the tip, I’ve debated purchasing a new engine harness to eliminate any other issues. I need new battery cables so might just do that at the same time.
Sometimes a failing actuator (electronics) on the IPR valve gives that code also.
I did notice when I got the old IPR out, the electronic portion it’s self was loose and I could wiggle it side to side, also it says patent pending on it. Fingers crossed that the IPR was faulty and the new motorcraft one is the fix.
