Whats the most that a 351 can be bored and stroked?? The largest kits Ive seen so far is 427. If thats the most, thats good, but I want the most power I can get it.
Of course Ive thought about a 460 under the hood, but to be reasonable as a street car I think it would be best to stick with the small block. Less weight, more clearance room, and less modification. Im just going to expand the small block to suit my power addiction. I just dont know the limit to which I can expand a 351. Like I said, 427 is the largest Ive seen.
The largest i've seen is a 392. The 427 however is interesting, were did you see this kit?
Seeing that you are messing around with a Mustang and not a truck might i suggest checking this site out http://www.fordmuscle.com/ They also have forums and most of those guys love stroker motors.
I built a 408 this spring for my Mustang. It runs 6.70's in the 1/8th and I can drive it on the street. Needs good fuel but it does not overheat. The kit I used only requires a .030 overbore.

They use an SVO block bored to 4.125 and a 4.25" crank. The rods are 6.2" That is a 1.45 rod/stroke ratio and scares the living b'jesus out of me. I wouldn't do it period.
On second thought maybe i won't go that far! I have been toying with the idea of building a stroker for my truck but funds are a big hinderance right now.
A 432 would definitly be nice, but I would think .060 over would stress out the walls a lot if running full throttle. Maybe have it iron sleeved?? 427 would satisfy me for now. I would eventually like a Ford Racing aluminum 351 block with a possible 454 CID. I dont know. Such aspirations. I think Im going to check with a race shop here in town about the CID of my model block. They specialize in new production BOSS 429 engines, but I believe they have a full engine shop as well.
A Dart iron ford small block has the capability of 467 cubic inches while maintaining .25" between cylinders. The aluminum version is up to 463 cubes. Expect to shell out big dough. I'm dreaming of a 383 Windsor with all the good stuff to keep a smile on my face for many many miles. Down with the mods. Long live pushrods.
