Hey Everyone, i have a 1977 f100 but i have a 1990 f150 fuel tank in the rear. this tank has the fuel pump inside the white body (reservoir). i need to upgrade the pump to a higher lph for the motor swap i just did. i would like to go with the aero motive stealth 340 but there website does not list a model for the year tank i am using. so if i remove the white housing to mount the new fuel pump i wont be able to put the housing back on so i will loose the fuel level sending unit. i have attached a picture of what my current pump looks like as well as the new replacement pump and a similar setup I'm looking for that the new pump would work in.
if this is confusing please let me know so i can fix it. any help would be greatly appreciated
What I see is this: the first pic is an ITR unit introduced in 1990 as you state. The 2nd pic is the low pressure unit used on pre-1990 trucks with EFI to feed the high-pressure pump on the frame rail.
The second image could also pass for a Fox mustang pump/sender hanger assembly.
Which your aeromotive pump should attach to just fine. If it fits the tank opening, use it, match your existing pump/sender wiring & go about your bidniz
