22 raptor got screwed
New here I ordered my first raptor in November of 21 at MSRP of 77,489 and heard no updates until a couple of days ago when I got a email from the dealership that read “ I was told today that Ford cancelled your order. We priced a 2023 spec'd the way you ordered it and the cost is $88089 without the bed liner or a plate. Do you want me to reorder it?” what do you guys recommend I should do am I screwed as I was completely devastated by this news. Thanks for all the help in advance!
I suspect you meant to post your story in another sub-forum as this is for the F-150 Lighting EV truck.
You may be more inclined to have like minded people to discuss with at the following link: 2021+ F-150 sub-forum
Although, since you asked for help and/or advice, I would say is the F-150 Raptor worth the extra cost to you. A $1 is a $1, but that dollar has a different "value" to you than it does to me or someone else. Also, money is just a means to purchase the things we need or want... An $11,000 markup is steep, but if you really want the truck and would be upset if you let less than 9% of the purchase price change your mind, you must not have wanted it that bad in the first place.
It is only money and tomorrow is not guaranteed. Live smart, but enjoy life...
With the chip shortage, many but not all dealers will markup any and every popular vehicle and they could care less if you walk or not.
Aside form the price increase, another wait would be painful.
Even at that date when they say basically "if you arent scheduled you arent getting built" your order is still not technically cancelled it goes to 99 status which flags the dealer to do something.
My guess is that even though F150 is still scheduling for 22my production, the Raptor line has been tapped out and the OP's order went to 99 status.
So the question is, is Ford going to do anything to price protect you on the increase in price since you placed your order 8 months ago in good faith and Ford wasnt able to build it. There's a bunch of us over on the Super Duty side that may be in the same situation and its yet to be seen if Ford will price protect us into a 2023... If they dont, ill be keeping my F150 for a while longer.

- Ordered a 21 F150 Platinum Powerboost in July 2021 ($1k deposit)
- No action, for months, then I learned by calling Ford customer service in November that the order was "converted" to a 22.
- I initially felt the dealer had dropped the ball a bit, but subsequently they:
- Locked in my original financing rate (from 7/21)
- Got Ford to price-protect the 22 at the price of my original order
- Extracted another 5k in rebates by cajolling Ford to combine the original incentives with new ones available at time of delivery.
Did you put down a deposit? It seems like the dealer should do better for you, or you should find another who will. Good luck.
