I have a 2000 f250 with the 5.4 inside of it. It’s been sitting for a year and I decided that I wanted to try and start it. But when I put a battery in it it didn’t start and we sprayed some either inside of it and it ran for a minute till I Took my foot off the gas and it died. So I put a new fuel pump in and a new battery and when I started it it started to run and got up to 600 rpm and then died and now when I turn it over it might bump up to 300 rpm but then die down and just turn over. So I wanted to know if anyone had this same problem?
Did you drain all of the old gasoline from the tank and fuel lines AND clean out the gas tank? Old/sitting fuel should not be run through an engine. If you didn’t clean out the fuel system you probably have created a major new headache for yourself.

i drained out all the old fuel in the tank and put it in gas cans but the gas seemed to be fine so I put it in my 1995 Camry and that things never been more than happy. The gas inside of it wasn’t that old maybe 1 year because I just put gas in it before it was parked. But another user told me to try and clean out my iac which is what I’m going to do today and see if it works.
Also clean your MAF and check your TPS, Sitting for a year dirt corrosion can build up on connectors. With both the MAF and TPS check your voltages, Also, I'm sure you've done this already but maybe not, check your air cleaner for rodent or squirrel nests.
One other thing is todays gas is only good for 3 to 6 months then the ethanol starts breaking down and creates a gummy crap that can clog injectors. I pulled 15 gallons out of my rear tank recently because the FP died, I'm burning it in my 2 stoke motors.
