So, I mentioned putting AC in my 1992 F350, and I pulled the trigger, and bought a 1995 F150 with a 302 to do it. I was looking, and there is a bit more electrical hurtles than I first thought. So I want to swap harnesses, so that all the wiring is factory. So do you know will a 1995 5.0 harness swap over to a 1992 5.8? If not, would a 1992 5.0 swap over to a 1992 5.8? I can't seem to find much literature on my issue, so can someone here help me out?
I cannot speak to your specific situation but it would be rare for a wiring harness to be swapped from one vehicle/engine combo to another and work perfectly. The '95 5.0 will most likely be quite different from the '92's 5.8 wiring. Same for your other combination. The only way to check is via the EVTM's for your respective donor and receiver vehicles. You could also physically swap them to check but its possible Ford changed a few connectors from model year to model year.
Your trucks may be early enough to where the fuel injection system and stuff for the ECM was a separate harness. If you have one truck that you are definitely going to cannablize, I would find the ECM for that truck, unplug the large wiring plug to the ECM, and then slowly pull it out of the truck, taking and unplugging sensors and such along the way. If it's like the older trucks, it will come out separate from the rest of the truck, with a few exceptions here and there. If you get it out, then you will be left with the body harness which you want to swap. You would then have a clear idea of what needs to come out to get the A/C in place.
