Let me start out by saying I'm "frugal". I have another thread going about rebuilding the 226 flat six in my '49 F-2. One thing led to another and now I'm in full throttle into pretty much rebuilding a replacement motor. I an now on the prowl for parts. I've contacted all of the major players to see prices and availability. Most don't have all of the parts, maybe one or two pieces or none at all. I got one quote for all of the parts I need for $1700, just for parts. I checked out eBay and there's a place I've never heard of that seems to have all of the parts I need. I would like to know if anyone here has bought from Falcon Performance/Falcon Global. I'd feel better if I knew someone here had good dealings with this company
So far over 60 people have viewed this post, no one has anything to say about this place. I found numerous posts on the HAMB all positive. Anyone who has visited the HAMB knows the place is a school of sharks, the members there are less reserved than the member here. If someone screwed someone they smell the blood and feast on the subject. All of the posts there were very favorable.
I agree on the sharks on HAMB. I would be concerned about the quality of the parts they supply. It would be a real shame to buy parts and install them to discover in 2 or 3,000 miles the part were crap.and very low quality like so much of the off shore stuff we have come to hate. Might save 200 and have to redo it on 2000 miles
Good luck what ever you decide to do. I would check with a machine shop and see what they would charge to boil out your block, install the cam and bearings and do the valves. Many times they buy bulk bearing and rings and can sell and install them much cheaper that you can buy the parts. They buy bearing in bulk and not in individual boxes and that saves them a lot of money.
I have not heard of Falcon Performance, so I can't comment there. I must really be out of the loop, if you are overhauling the spare engine, you would need rings, bearings, valves, a gasket set and probably a water pump since you are there. I'm having trouble seeing $1700.

I've heard of them but never bought from them. I read some of the reviews on the HAMB and like you said, it sounded promising. The kit on ebay looked good and if the picture is representative of the parts you get, it looked like all good name stuff. It would certainly be worth a phone call to ease your mind. The ebay feedback looked good. Only 20 disgruntled people in a year from nearly 4000 customers, and half of those were from people who didn't give them a chance to make right anything that may have been an issue. I'd buy from them. No doubt parts for unpopular engines will be harder to find and more expensive when you do. If they have everything you need in stock and available, that's worth something these days.

Bob, I just settled down to my tablet after working in the yard all day. This is the first I saw your post. But it doesn't matter. I never heard of Falcon Performance.
I wouldn't buy from them. When I was a kid I thought Falcons were dumb ugly cars. And why put Falcon parts in a truck anyway! LOL
Is that $1700 for name brand components, like Egge pistons, Clevite bearings, Hastings rings? or just unspecified mfr's? It sure looks high to me, too.
You can always try Rockauto.com. The parts are usually very good, if you get the correct ones. Since Covid, their customer service is almost non existent if there is a issue.

I have come to avoid Rock Auto. My last two experiences with them have turned me off. I have also found most times I can get the same parts from my local O'rielly's for about the same price without the shipping costs. Also have the added benefit if I have problem or need to return something I can deal with a real live person, Rock Auto doesn't have a way to talk to anyone on the phone and they charge you to send a part back even if they were in the wrong in sending the wrong part. However, since the parts I am looking for are difficult to find I checked the Rock Auto website and they only had a few of the parts and not the full quantities. Most parts were being closed out. Rock used to carry a lot of parts for older vehicles but have been phasing them out.
I sent a message to Falcon Performance this morning asking pricing and availability and they got back to me right away with a price of just over $1000, this includes a few added items I didn't include in my request to the other vendors. I messaged back asking what manufacturers they sell, waiting to hear back.
The people at Falcon seem very responsive, they reply to emails in very short time, I like that.
The got back to me on whose parts they sell. For gaskets they sell Best Gaskets and for the other parts I need the sell Rebuilders Choice, I've never heard of them but I'm also on top of the latest and greatest in the automotive industry.

I just looked up the address they listed on Google maps. Came up with Packard Industries, Kanter auto products and Central Automotive.
Interesting, Kanter is big into Packards.
This is from a post on the HAMB about Falcon Global: "Guy I talked to when I ordered part said they were a wholesaler for Kanter. If I remember right some parts actually shipped from Kanter's NJ location."
Bob,
Glad to see you are doing better with your neck now.
I'm gonna let you take the lead ( be the guinea pig ) on sourcing parts.
I am getting ready to do the tear down on my 226 so I can get it to the Machine Shop.
