Ozark Mountain Run 2022

So, next weekend (7/22-23) is the Ozark Mountain Run in Branson Missouri. It is an all Ford truck show and a great event.
They will be having a cruise to dinner Friday evening and another longer cruise on Saturday evening. I think my truck is ready for the drive.
I decided to check the weather.

Ouch!!!!!! I might need to find an ice vest for the drive.
We will post pictures here as we take them.

It is supposed to be very hot here all week. I may try to drive my truck up for a little while on Friday. I didn't register this year as I wasn't sure that I would be able to come.

Mark, I sure hope you can get up there for at least a little while with your truck.

Art says he MAY drive his truck down from Ozark. I'll be there and hopefully this will be the last year I don't have a truck in the show.

Hey guys, I will be heading down Thursday. It is a 7 hour drive and I don't want to be shot by the time I arrive. I am kind of cheating though buy hauling Big Blue on a trailer and riding in an air conditioned cab LOL I am really looking forward to the event and especially the cruise and fine eats. You have my number Joe. If you run into issues give me a call and I can bail you out. Please let me know when you arrive. See ya soon! Dave

No shame in riding in the A/C! That's why A/C was one of the first things installed in my 56. Just wish it was done for the show.

You can register when you show up.
Hows your back doing. Last time we talked you said it was too bad to ride in your truck.

I will be heading down to my parents in Bolivar Thursday evening. I plan on getting to the show shortly after noon on Friday.
I mentioned to my mom that it would be a hot drive. She said she has a battery operated fan. It wouldn't help. I get a lot of air flow in the cab. I've driven while it's in the 90's. It's not too bad when you are moving, but when you stop you start to bake. Having just bare metal above my head doesn't help. One of these days I will get a headliner put in with some insulation at the top.

I don't have a headliner or floor mats either. Like you say, there is lots of air flow through the cab when you are moving. If we make our old trucks too comfortable, we'll loose some of our appreciation for our daily drivers. For instance, my daily driver has over 230,000 miles on it, but I still think of it as showroom fresh compared to my old truck. We usually think of our old trucks as money pits, but actually they are saving us thousands in new vehicle payments. LOL.

Have a great time at the show!

Jim

Spending the week at Pomme De Terre in Pittsburg MO (close to Bolivar). Heading over to the show Friday in my daily driver 2015 F150. Just too far to drive or trailer my '51. Maybe next year!
Will they allow me to drive the 2015 f150 in the cruise?
Looking forward to it!
Dave

I think Craig Heseman is In charge of the cruises. I asked about your newer F150. Hopefully they'll answer soon.

My parents place is right on the Pomme De Terre River. Sometimes they get flooded in with the main roads blocked off.
You might be able to make friends and hop in someone's truck for company. BJ is planning on joining me in my truck if he is OK with no air conditioning at the end of the day.. If a person is driving solo I'm sure they would love to have someone ride shotgun with them.

That would be great! Too hot here to even mess with putting the boat in. Think I read somewhere ay ford truck is allowed so maybe I can bring up the rear on the cruise. Looking forward to meeting!

BJ, Dave, Mark or whoever wants can ride "shot gun" with me on the cruise if they like. Never hurts to have a passenger side waver ???
