Well, It is a sad day to do this but for the sake of the truck I must let it go. Hate to see all my work go to waste but I cant watch it be ruined. Read the description, ask questions and help me find a home for my 66.
F100? 8 lug axles. Lots of changes. The 1/2 ton frames were never meant to handle that stress, noted by the bed to cab body alignment, truck looks bent in the middle. Granted it could be addressed with boxing. This is what happens when trying to make something it's not intended to be. Thats just my observation.

Appreciate your feedback. As this is my first post on this forum and my first attempt at a full restoration, I welcome discussion and have a lot to learn. 30 years in the Army and high school auto body classes did not prepare me for a restoration project but I am trying to do it right. I bought this as a hunting truck, not parking lot queen. With the intent of stripping it down and building it back up in my retirement years. It became my therapist, I talked to it more than you would think! Back story, it was a registered, running driving truck when I rolled it off the trailer. Then the fun began. 3 years of nightly therapy, scrubbing, cleaning, fixing the previous owners stupid mistakes brought me to this point. Now life tossed a curve ball and I don't have a garage. This is due to moving to the in laws home to take care of an 85+ year old couple, I just don't want what I worked so hard on to go to waste. I know it will take a special person to accept this project but I'm special and not alone!!!
Yes it is a F100 with 8 lug axles. I see this project no differently than crown vic front end swap. Not everyone is purest. We do what we can, the best that we can. It maybe a Frankenstein to some but its still a viable setup. Not sure its worth the debate about your "stress" comment but its your opinion. The body alignment is actually a near perfect fit. Front cab mounts align perfectly, the original rear mount location just need bracing in the cab to strengthen or the transfer case mount can be utilized with the original cab holes and support bracing to bridge the gap. The bed bolt pattern is irrelevant but aligns almost near the originals. The reason you see a slight bend in the middle is because everything is just sitting on the frame without bed spacers or shims.

Follow the link and you'll see it's sitting on a shortened 76 highboy chassis. Not a bad project, would make a nice working/daily driver truck. Lot's of work to do yet, maybe priced a little high, but who's to say in today's world.
Yeah, when I saw this truck project my impression was - damn, another great start and nice truck. Timing and distance isn’t good for me, but someone will get a great project. Nice work! Is there no other way to find and put it in storage for another day?
That's a great start to a project. Nice sheet metal is hard to find. If I were closer I'd buy it. Good luck with the sale.
Appreciate it! You ain't lying about how hard it is to find good sheet metal. Tom @ Flashback F100's - Home is the best! If he cant find it, I don't think anyone can. My original bed was rotted and he found me a California bed with very little damage. The replacement cost of cross members and piecing the bed floor together plus my time was a wash so I drove up to NC and picked it up. Then made some of the $ back when I sold the old one!

Thanks for the compliment. Unfortunately Naples FL is a high priced area compared to Fort Benning, GA. With all the retired $ here, prices for a storage garage with a outside door is stupid. Fortunate for me, yesterday a guy came by to look at it and was really interested. I gave him the opportunity to think it over and I am confident he will buy it. Unless he is a used car salesman and lead me on! Money talks!
Did I say delivery is possible for the right cost!! :-)
