Need Help

Whats up guys i need serious help I was left a 2000 f-250 IDI 7.3L from my father who passed and it sat for 6 years what do I do to get it up and running

First thing to do is figure out what you have.

Ford discontinued the IDI over a half decade prior to model year 2000.

Well for one don't call it an IDI, those engines are completely different and years older (pre 1994) only sharing the same displacement, not a single part interchanges

Most likely it will need new filters and fluids, fresh batteries, and coolant SCA checked. Then attempt to crank it.

^^^...What he said about the filters and fluids...in addition you'll probably need to drop, drain, and clean the fuel tank, which at that point go ahead and get rid of those filter socks in there...

Important rule: do not use starting fluid.

If the glow plugs are working and the ether hits it and goes kablooey at the wrong time it can cause serious damage.
