This is the third strike

Girlfriend and I went to dinner tonight and when we came out, I opened the passenger door to let her in and we noticed the glove box open. Looked at the drivers door and the window was busted. Damn punks broke into my truck for a third time!!!! Looks like they used an automatic center punch in the corner of the drivers door glass and then hooked the inside door **** to unlock it. But that was after someone disconnected the horn through the front grill!!!! So it looks like I'll be doing a relocation on the horns and re-routing the wiring, replacing the driver's window and possibly the interior door panel. And all they got away with for their troubles was a broken dash cam. Left the wiring for it and the rear camera but the main unit was broken and didn't work properly. Oh well. I'll let the insurance take care of it. Maybe next time I'll catch someone at it and plant them face first on hot asphalt (it was over 104 degrees today) until the cops show up. I don't give a damn if they burn their faces on the asphalt. This stuff is getting old!!! And the first question the police dispatcher asked me? "Were any firearms stolen out of the truck?" I said "No ma'am, I don't leave them in there when i go eat." The restaurant manager kind of gave me a funny look though....lol

No, it was across the highway at Longhorn Steakhouse. Same neck of the woods though. Thanks.

Pretty stupid of Ford to put the horn where it can be disabled so easily. Did they not even try to steal the truck?

if they had the means to start the truck they wouldn’t have required a center punch to get to the door locking tab, they chould just unlock the car with the device they have the code on.

For years I have been leaving my doors unlocked, if they want to get it just open the door and take what you want with out all the damage. Nothing in my truck worth taking (but they don't know that).. Insurance will compensate me for what is done, but I won't have the mess of broken glass, etc. Sorry for your situation, it really sucks especially after three times.

San Antonio is really bad.

Lots of third world there.

I recently took in an exotic sports car for an oil change and someone took it on a joy ride and ****ed up the transmission (and probably other stuff). Its getting hard to have nice stuff.

I work in San Antonio. The thieves are constantly cruising parking lots and stealing. It is unreal! My office has a parking garage, pretty small actually, but cars are broken into almost daily. Car thefts and residential burglaries are the same. The teens in SA are a nightmare. My wife was born and raised there and would never live there for any reason.

The may or may not be helpful…

I have a 2021 SD Lariat and the lock can not be pulled up or the interior button used to unlock it once locked by the key fob.

I got locked out of my truck in the first week of ownership. I did not know the code but by habit jumped out and hit those two little buttons. Both fobs in truck, wallet in truck, phone in truck.

Police couldn’t open and then locksmith couldn’t open using normal methods. Finally he asked where my key fobs were and had to use magic to hook a fob from the front console. I was so relieved and he was impressed on hard it was to break into the new trucks.

Great guy. Wouldn’t take my money and said thanks for the puzzle.

So I don’t know if something has changed from 2017 to 2021 or if it’s because you didn’t use the bottom two buttons?

Sorry for trouble.

did you get any notice on ford pass that there was actiivity on the truck? I have gotten it from the sensors when we left the dog in the truck (window down) and locked it.

Same here.

Was the truck running. If so or not, did you lock the door with the fob or keypad?

Instead of that, run new wires to the horns via a different route. Connect the old horn wires to a relay to set off a siren if the wire is cut.

thats what I think.....run a second circut to another horn system.....leave the OEM in tack......hen they cut the OEM...the new parallel circut will still be there....a loug train horn would be nice.

this is a diagram for 15/16 not sure if it applies to all recent years.
