Does anyone know where to get some good door lock actuators for the Excursion I have tried two different types on Amazon and they both technically fit but do not function properly they are weak and do not fully lock or unlock all the time and I've noticed they are shaped slightly different so the range of motion for the lock handle is also reduced.
Does anyone know anywhere that still has the OEM or a unit that is equivalent to OEM that is reliable because I have a passenger door that will not lock or unlock properly even after replacing the actuator twice and everything else is working properly it is the actuators that are junk.
I went with 1 A Auto because I like their how-to videos but I would look carefully at the part photos to see if that is what you want, once I locked them fully into place I haven't had any issues. Or you can try ebay "old new stock" items, OEM parts that are sitting on a shelf after being discontinued by Ford but some seller has a few in his garage.
The actuators that I have broken are at my rear hatch and driver’s door. My rear hatch broke first, so one time I had to unlock myself by crawling through that way to unlock the driver’s door.
When the driver’s door actuator broke, I figured, problem solved.
When I lost my key fob, I concluded that God was looking out for my best interest.
I have replaced all of them in the wife's Excursion...some a couple of times through the years. I've only replaced the passenger side door unit once on my F350. I buy the cheap ones off Ebay and they typically last several years and are easy to change once you've done it. I buy them in pairs or fours as they are different between the driver and passenger sides, so to keep spares on hand when they start heading south...
