2010 explorer trans

2010 explorer trans
2010 explorer transmission seams to be gone
it started getting growling noise and harsh shift for year then it got stuck on a curb on its frame put into 4x4 and tried to get out with no joy
had some output shaft speed dtc if I remember right right after
It won’t move in any gears really you can feel it shift into said gear and make a slight motion in direction but it’s not going anywhere
thinking the curb ordeal finished the transmission off and seems to have spun some clutches or something inside trans
I’m getting quotes for 5k plus labor does that seem reasonable I’m guessing with labor it’s going to be 7k that’s more then it’s worth
How much is involved pulling this trans out of a 2010 explorer v6 with 5R55s

Could it be the transfer case
It just had harsh shift and growling that would go away upon shifting to different gears for awhile before she all went south makes the trans suspect to me but open to any suggestions

5R isn't the worlds greatest transmission. Is the fluid burnt?
This trans uses bands, it is possible one broke. There are also some accumulators that can wear, not activate the bands.
A service manual is probably a good investment.
