Hey guys, one of my good friend's has an early 90's explorer with a V6 under the hood and an M5OD behind that. Well the usual happened..... the rubber plugs started leaking and he didn't know about it until he lost second, fourth and fifth gear. He overheated the shaft and the trans is beyond repair.
Anyhow is the F150 M5OD the same thing or is there a difference? Would they swap out easily? He really needs his explorer before college starts up again and his Summer job begins. Is there a place that offers a rebuilt unit pretty cheap? I live in Georgetown Texas, about 20 miles above Austin. Peronally I don't care where the trans comes from as long as it's a good deal.
