Adjusting hood dowel
I am trying to find out how to adjust the hood dowel. From the hood to the end of the pin is 3 3/4 inches. I can move it a small amount. But it’s better to ask first.

The dowel is threaded into the bracket on the hood. Mine had a jam nut on it to lock it into place. Not sure if this was original or added later. If it is hard to move probably rusted in place. Spray it down with some penetrating oil and heat it up to help loosen it.

Hi thanks for the quick response. I took your advice and sprayed a little pb blaster on the threaded rod. So today I took a pair of vice grips and the dowel moved about a quarter turn. That's just enough to latch on to the hood latch. And I also put on a new hood latch because my latch was all bent. But all is good now hood latch works so Im happy.
