I bought a pair off eBay https://www.ebay.com/itm/133991276587 and according to the ad it is "This part is compatible with 1 vehicle(s) matching 1999 Ford F-350 Super Duty XLT Extended Cab Pickup 4-Door 6.8L 415Cu. In. V10 GAS SOHC Naturally Aspirated" which is the truck I own and wanted to install the headlights in. They don't come close to fitting without chopping much of the OEM framework away. What exactly is a "conversion" headlight?
A conversion headlight is usually a non-OEM matching item that has been made in China and requires modifications to fit. It typically has lenses that will yellow due to the sun and might fog due to poor sealing. Performance may be lower than a standard headlight.
You paid $99 for the pair. You’re better off going to a junkyard and getting OEM lights at a lower price.
Sorry to be the one to break the news to you. Think of it as a lesson learned.
Conversion headlights are an updated lense to look like the 05-07 headlights but in a 99-04 truck. You have to cut a bit of the plastic behind the stock headlights to allow them to sit properly.
I purchased a no cut conversion light.
I hate to chop up the fiberglass pannel.
They are not as fancy as the cut ones.
But the first went right in with no mod needed.
Most happy
Remember they dont seal them completely and you have to run a bead of clear silicone around or the will get water or fog.
They admit this and advise to fo so in instructions
you can double up on the gasket for a tight seal, thats what i did to mine. Silicone works also. I didnt get these exact ones but did get ones where you had to cut the fiberglass. No regrets and after a year and a half still clear as they came.

thosexare conversion headlights. Your truck uses a headlight that is separate from the turn signals so it’s two pieces. This is a one piece. It requires either
1. cutting your existing core support to allow the bigger deeper headlights to fit
2. replacing it with a 2004-2007 core support.
or
getvthe direct fit 1999-2004 one piece headlights that are shallower (not as deep) as the ones you got.
you just need to cut the back of the headlight bucket out. You may need the conversion pigtails too. I bought a set of those Harley Davidson aftermarket headlights and the right core support. I decided not to do the conversion. I like the front end of my truck
