I think about changing out mine as well. I have the RH Legend for the front but their rear legend bumper does not come ready for a license plate light that is required where I live. Not quite convinced yet on their sport bumper.
Those look heavy. My only concern with replacing the bumper with those strong beasts is a rear end hit is going to HURT! They look pretty robust and will hold up to backing into things, but the crush zone is gone. OTOH a mild tap is going destroy whatever hits you with nothing more than maybe a scratch. I just repaired my rear bumper, they are designed to crush on impact and take up some of the shock before it gets to the occupants and help prevent frame damage. Really not much to them and they haven't changed much over the years. Two shells, a main support and a plastic step cover.
They look good though. Even have the back up sensors.
They are heavy! I had to use my cherry picker engine hoist to install it.
I was surprised the sensors went in with no problem.
What acdii said I thought about too. A minor hit will not faze it but a major hit I don't want to find out.
The rear bumper on my '22 F-250 also had factory fitment issues. Perfect fitment on the drivers side and off on the passenger side. I haven't done anything about it. Dealer wanted me to take it to their body shop but, I couldn't schedule a convenient time so I've just lived with it.
The back end of the 17+ is such a good looking truck I couldn’t imagine replacing it with the monstrosity that every aftermarket bumper looks like.
Id rather go thru 3 or 4 factory bumpers once they got beat up enough if I planned on crashing my truck into **** for some reason before I swapped for aftermarket.
