My 2022 rear bumper was installed wrong at the factory and the dealer is sending it to a autobody shop because they cannot determine how to align it correctly. The alignment issues scratched the tailgate.
Anyways I am thinking about a aftermarket rear bumper, Smittybuild M1A2 is my front runner (for the rear). Any suggestions?
I legit just posted this same issue along with another. See my sig for my build date and info? Wondering if they had a bad batch of bumpers. My thread is also up with some pictures of the twist and scratches.
My build date was just after yours, shipped early May and delivered at the end of the month. Mine is a supercab and the right rear door also has alignment issues.
Interesting. I've got issues with the pano roof seal, rear bumper/tailgate, steering wheel not center and missing the kick plate on driver door (BAP has chrome kick plates that say Super Duty).

After backing into a small tree at about 6 or 7 mph I crushed my rear bumper plowing snow and replaced with a Ranch Hand . A bit hard to install by myself
but got it done.
I put a Steelcraft HD bumper on my '21. See pic below. It's similar to the Ranch Hand but sticks out quite a bit more. I had a Ranch Hand on order for months and finally cancelled it and bought this bumper instead, and now I wish I would have waited or went a different route. The bumper sticks out so far that it's almost over the ball of any hitch you put on. As a matter of fact, you cannot use less than a 4" drop because the bumper is in the way. Also totally negates the possibility of using a winch cradle in the rear receiver. The bumper is plenty heavy duty and is well built, but I wish I'd have known it stuck out so far.
Those look heavy. My only concern with replacing the bumper with those strong beasts is a rear end hit is going to HURT! They look pretty robust and will hold up to backing into things, but the crush zone is gone. OTOH a mild tap is going destroy whatever hits you with nothing more than maybe a scratch. I just repaired my rear bumper, they are designed to crush on impact and take up some of the shock before it gets to the occupants and help prevent frame damage. Really not much to them and they haven't changed much over the years. Two shells, a main support and a plastic step cover.
They look good though. Even have the back up sensors.
