I need the two rubber fuel lines that come off the front of the fuel filter. The ones with the flare fittings. Had a blow out on I85 near Exit 6 in Georgis today. Are these available or made at a hyd shop?
I just installed an electric fuel pump kit and replaced those, the kit uses push-lok fittings into rubber. I also had a blow out on the old ones, last month. Lost 5 gallons or so in the Safeway parking lot. The parts you are looking for are the fuel return lines. If you are stuck on the road, maybe try a hose barb coupler and clamps, fuel pressure is around 60psi so get the "fuel injection" clamps and fuel line capable of at that psi. If its the drivers side line, you must remove the AC compressor, then the steering pump bracket. I just left one bolt in a few turns and turned it out of the way. Then you can access the the drivers side return line. It sucks.
IKR? I just filled up and noticed my fuel quantity indicator at 3/4 full after 4 minutes. Pulled over and saw fuel everywhere. A really nice guy at the gas station in Lagrange GA drove me to Orielly's. I got the hose mender and two clamps. The line was in such bad shape the mender almost did not work. 200 miles later I got home. I was pretty nervous driving thru Atlanta.
Can someone link me to the lines being discussed? Or post a picture pointing them out, I've never had a problem on any of the trucks I run and would like to take a closer look if some preventative maintenance would be wise.
