New rebuilt carb. Many new vac hoses installed
So I am trying to track down a possible vac leak.
I don't have a smoke machine, but I do have a cigar to do the trick.
I blocked off the carb completely because when I did it before it was really hard to tell as I couldn't completely stop the smoke from coming out through there.
I am blowing smoke through the brake booster hose.
I have a brand new EGR, but that is where I see smoke coming out.
Is this normal when blowing smoke that direction? I have read 2 different things and looking for a definite answer.
Ive even tried a different working egr and I do still get smoke from there.
Is the brake booster hose the preferred place?
@gerk3 You should not see smoke coming out of the EGR valve. Pull the vacuum line off the valve to see if that is where the smoke is coming from. IMO, cracked vacuum actuator diaphragm would be most likely. Next, no or totally trashed valve mounting gasket. Then, not likely, a bad packing on valve stem.
