I lost my gas cap, decided to buy a locking gas cap for replacement, so I went on Fordparts website, entered my VIN, and it listed 2 compatible parts, part numbers:
Part: FC935 is $12 and Part: FC1056 is $50
I bought the cheaper one, but it doesn’t work. It screws in a half inch, then stops, starts clicking. It won’t screw in all the way.
Question: Is this correct? Does the FC935 not work in a 2006 F150? I don’t know what could go wrong, screwing in a gas cap, but am I missing something?
I suppose I have to return it and buy a cheaper third-party gas cap, since I want a locking one. On eBay, FC1056 is still $44.
