I’m getting random Low Fuel Pressure warnings on my ‘17 F250 6.7. Changed the fuel filters out and it still happens. Truck runs fine and doesn’t lose any power. 3 weeks wait time to get in at my local shop and what’s interesting is when they started checking my reports on my truck, prior to me owning it, it had a fuel pressure sensor replaced at 16k miles, 20k miles and then I had to get the fuel tank replaced, under warranty, at 29k miles. I’m going to get it in the shop, when they can and see what the damage is this time. This will be the 6th time this truck has been in the shop in less than 2 years. My ‘13 F150 didn’t spend one second in the shop In the 9 years I owned it. Really regretting getting this truck.
Is there any noticeable increase in sound coming from the low pressure fuel pump?
Nothing at all. It just comes on occasionally and then I hit ok, to make it go away. No
power loss, no weird noises, nothing. Not being able to get it in the shop is my problem. They have loaner vehicles, for while it’s in the shop, but it’s the backlog on waiting that is my worry.
No check engine lights EVER! That’s what’s weird about it.
Well, I'd get a code reader on it anyway, just to see if it shows anything.
That is if you want to mess with it before the shop gets ahold of it.
On a 2017, do you still have any warranty remaining?

The dealer gave me a lifetime powertrain warranty through CarSaver Protect and they’ve covered every issue, so far. I talked with the service manager last week and he recommended changing fuel filters to see if that would correct it. Calling to get on the schedule for maintenance, first thing in the morning.
Be curious what you find. I have a 17 also and it started doing this about 2 months ago.
it only does it during regen cycle and it is a p0087 low fuel rail pressure. It also derates power.
I am running a Banks Idash and derringer so I can read and clear the code.
I caught it in regen on Tuesday and was watching commanded press. And actual press and it was 3k psi low, 15 sec. Light comes on.
I took power level back to stock and it still did the same thing, I have since removed the derringer and I think it is running smoother and actually have more power and is more responsive with it unhooked.
I will be doing a regen tomorrow again as it is at 104 percent tonight.
The shop needs to isolate and monitor the different sections and components and find where the pressure drop is occurring. Sounds like that hasn't been done yet. Sensors, filters, and assuming a new low pressure fuel pump when the tank was swapped for whatever happened. There's a lot of reasons this could be happening but takes time and work to zero in on it when done systematically, hopefully there's a good Tech at this shop willing to or allowed to do it right. I wouldn't blame the truck, these systems are complicated.
