I've tried and tried to use the FordPass app and sometimes it works and other times it doesn't. Seems like everytime they do an update, they break it even worse than it was before. I don't have the Connect system (TCU module) on my '17 F-250 so I'm not worried about that part not working. But what chaps me is that I can't see oil life, miles, or anything on the app screen. I have tried deleting the app, reinstalling it, reconfiguring to add my truck but no go. I am at version 4.17.0 (which I believe is the last update) and it hasn't worked for the last two updates. At this point, I'm ready to pull the plug on the app and quit worrying about it. Anyone have any clues on what is going on with FordPass or am I doing something really stupid and don't realize it's my fault that it won't work? Thanks for letting me rant. The app worked great on my 16 F150 when I added the TCU module, but I don't know if I want to go through that again for this truck.
The app seems to work less than half the time for me. I think I have to disable Android Auto, connect through Bluetooth and wave a dead chicken over the dashboard. I use it so infrequently that I can't remember how I got it to work the previous time. I don't know why I bother. I change my oil every 5,000 miles so I don't need to look it up.
I’m not seeing oil life any longer also - both our 2018 F250 and our 2017 GT350 no longer work.
Did I read somewhere that Ford was removing the oil life feature?
If so how in the heck are we suppose to see oil life ? There appears to be no option on either one.
Next they’ll be selling some sort of service to gain access….. Just bought a new Grand Cherokee - they appear to be going down the same rabbit hole. A lot of stuff missing like weather via Sirius and a pitch for “services” on a monthly basis at the end of the free trial.

That's right, I forgot about that notice they sent out. Vehicles without the Fordpass connect modem will no longer be able to see things like oil life, tire pressures etc. on the app. Those with the modem will continue to see that stuff on the app. That would explain why I still see it, but the OP doesn't.
When did Ford start putting the oil life % in the truck menu? My 2019 has it. It takes a few screens to find it but it's there.
Currently, mine is still working just fine. I had an "issue" before I got my truck, but once I go the e truck my FP app has (surprisingly) worked as expected the entire time. Saying that though, I don't use it a lot. Mostly just when out of key fob range I sometimes use the lock button just to make sure I did actually lock the door. I don't really use the auto start much anymore, but when its winter and really cold I may some then. But, it's always worked when I did.
The app worked just fine for me for the first 2 years I had my truck. Now I haven’t been able to get it to work for a month or so. Next time ai get to the dealership I’ll see if they can get it to work. Other wise it’s not something I need. It was nice to use at times . But I got by just fine without it. It’s definitely not something I’d pay a monthly fee for.
All I’m trying to do is use the the intelligent oil life monitor - it appears if you do not have the modem you can not see oil life.
Kind of ironic that Ford would kill this feature given they are pushing the “clean agenda” with electrics.
I kinda used it as a gauge / reminder to get oil changes done.
Guess I’ll be going back to every 6 months and or 5000 miles old school…..
Have any of you guys having issues tried calling the Ford Pass customer service???
They were pretty good with helping me when I ended up with two accounts, got it straightened out and I haven't had any issues since.
Only other thing on mine was it was sending me way too many low DEF notifications, I complained to them about that and it quit doing that after a while, so they must have changed that.
Phone number is 800-336-0486

I’ve been trying get my “orphan” account deleted for three weeks now just so I can use said email address for my account.
They keep asking me if I’d like to just create a new gmail account instead- no, I’d like to use the damn email address I use for everything else; how hard can it be to delete a damn account and start over??
For this concern there is no reason to call customer service (unless you do have the Fordpass connect modem). They sent out notifications and have a FAQ's page regarding the removal of some information from the app. Such as, oil life, fuel level, tire pressures, to name a few. That vehicle information should only be missing from the app if the vehicle DOES NOT have Fordpass connect. Fordpass connect became available in the Super Duty in 2019. So owners of 2017 and 2018 Super Duty's will be impacted the most.
