I have a 2001 f250 with 7.3. I know it has a bunch of transmission codes... Question is would the tranny make the engine sound like it's hitting a rev limiter when going down the road over 50 mph... Anything below that it runs fine.
P0781 means there is a problem with the 1-2 shift. P0782 means there is a problem with the 2-3 shift. Yes, the trans can make the engine hit the rev limiter at 50 MPH.
To add to this, P1316 is an internal IDM failure code if memory serves me correctly. While P0470 and P0478 are EBP sensor related type codes and P1211 is something to do with injector control pressure (ICP) being out of range. It is obvious you have a 7.3L diesel truck. I suspect something is amiss with the engine driveability which may have something to do with your transmission symptoms as well.
I've noticed that when there's issues with the 7.3L power plant and it's down on power, the transmission will throw codes if driven any decent distance. So get the issues fixed relative to the engine and go from there...

That's good advice. Any engine problem can cause trans problems. Often, fixing the engine problems also fixes the transmission problems.
