Are you a skydiver? We called it that because we used it to cover the rough edges around the door and doorway of our airplane.

Hello everyone and a happy and safe 4th to you. Thank you for all the comments. During these times your humor helps. I chose to go with a Ford dealer because I felt they would have the best access to Ford processes, procedures and training dealing with aluminum. Maybe ignorant on my part but this dealer comes highly recommended from outside of my insurance co. and is an approved repair facility with my insurance co.
As for the deer being okay.... The policemen said it landed in a heap and with all the excrement it spewed all over the front of our travel trailer, propane bottles and tongue jack I'm really not that "broken up over it ". I wish there was a GoPro video just so I could see what acrobatics it went through. There are marks on the left side of the trailer seven feet off the ground.
I scheduled the truck to go in, in mid October so we can keep the camping reservations we have already made and give me time to get the trailer to the storage yard for the winter. I'll post updates then. Thanks again and safe travels to you all.

This reminds me of the one I hit with my 2014 F150. Was cruising to work early in the morning, about 6:45 AM in February, just getting light enough to see everything, but no colors yet. One moment , tooling along, next a pair of ears swept across the front and BAM! WTH!!! I never saw it other than the ears. It creamed the front of the truck, took out the pass headlight, the grill, the bumper and bent the hood, which was aluminum. I have a Nuvicam, and it felt the impact and saved the segment. That damned deer came out from the left treeline right where my A pillar is, so I never saw it until I hit it. The Nuvicam though saw the whole thing.

I have no idea if the deer got up and ran away of if someone took it, but other than the ears, I never saw it. Deer are DUMB!!!

On submarines we had thick green duct tape called “EB green” (EB is electric boat division of General Dynamics). It was said to be good, on a repair, to test depth. 😀

Recently here in CA, they enacted a new law that allows you to harvest and butcher roadkill-
And in this part of the states, if the deer is still suffering from its injuries, you can retrieve your weapon of choice out of the truck and put it down, to end the suffering. Had to ask the bystanders if anyone interested in processing it, or wanting to take it to the processor. Not sure how the processor works without tags, I let someone else have it since they said they could process on their own.

Asking for myself, while we're on the subject, but don't you need to make sure whatever shop does the work has a separate booth for painting aluminum, and only aluminum?

Our best local animal story happened last summer. Guy hit THREE horses on the highway. The responding ambulance hit the fourth... Not just the deer that are dumb lol

I hit one in April.. The dealer told me AAA, my insurance company wants used parts if available. Truck is a 20 with 10,000 on it. He called a couple days later and told me damage was deeper then thought, more parts ordered.. and I asked if ordered and put new stuff on, I would pay the difference.. He told me not to worry, as cost on the new stuff from ford was cheaper then aftermarket. In the end it was just about $5,000. $993, front bumper, $1717.00, headlight, $350.00 fender-- the major parts it needed. Oh, and my "dealer" did a great job, can't even tell. Kevin
