Friend of mine hit the broad side of a cow coming over a hill at 65mph, no brake. Truck was totaled and all he really told me was man you should have seen all of the blood, it looked like a slaughterhouse.
Not the same event but similar outcome, for my driver's door and it was repaired with OEM door skin. You wouldn't know it was damaged unless I revealed it to you. Good luck and I can't even imagine the mental gymnastics of getting the rig home....good luck and safer travels on your return.
Having been in the RV biz for a bit (10 yrs) I can pretty much guarantee the only fix for the RV is going to be metal replacement. Unless its really bad (can't tell a lot from the picture), I would let it be or maybe file a claim then use the money to offset the reduction in price due to the dent when you sell the trailer.
This isn't the first time I have heard of a deer running into the side of vehicle. A friend who hauled large boats had one run into the side of his 18 wheeler tractor, then get caught up in the straps tying the boat down and bounce against the side of the boat tearing that up. Geez, deer are dumb.
Same happened to me. But 2600 miles from home. Came out so fast. I was doing 60 mph with a heavy truck camper tied to me. Tied up the loose parts with twine put the rest of the broken pieces behind grill into a shopping bag until I got to a hardware store. Clear duck tape over what was left of the clear lens. Going into the Ford dealer Collison center near me next week. Luckily I have $100 deductable.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…….Deer are without a doubt the dumbest four legged animal I’ve ever seen.
Yup....I've been saying that for years. Stupid animals.
I've had several very close calls in my SD lately...especially now that the grass along the roads is as tall as my truck.
Last one I got (well....it got me) was a large doe that ran straight into the side of my '07 Dodge Ram. Caved in the bedside just behind the cab, then went under the tire. DRT.
The last few months, I've been getting a lot of rabbits, possums, and 'coons. A few of each.
Actually the fender metal is strong. I was surprised due to the myth about aluminum vehicles. I had to use plygrips to bend back the fender were it meets the door due to it jamming against the door so I could open the door okay.

Agreed. First time I saw a coil of automotive aluminum run on a slitting line I was like, holy crap, what is this stuff? It's damn near as hard as the devil's toenail, but you don't realize that until you try to bend it.
