Greetings,

I have been a Ford boy since birth all my trucks are blue ovals. I have a F700 I recently bought and I am looking to find out what the Axle code is so I can buy replacement axle seals

Kindly Reguards,

Welcome to FTE! That's a little hard to read. Let's see what we can read.

1FD = Ford Motor USA, incomplete vehicle

W = Class 6, 19,501-26,000 lbs GVWR, air brakes

K74 = (if that's correct) F700 diesel, "cab model".

N = Detroit model DDA 990N -OR- DDA990T 8.2 liter/501 CID diesel V8

6 = The ninth digit is a Ford use only check digit

D = 1983 model year

V = Kentucky Truck Plant

A46410 = Numerical sequence of assembly.

22 = Rangoon Red

472091
47 = Cincinnati District Sales Office
2091 = Special Order Number. Since engine, trans, axle, color are present, the special order must be for something else.

141 = 141 inch wheelbase

K741 = F700 diesel, 23,100 lbs GVWR

D8 = Standard Cab

CB = Clark model 282 five speed direct transmission

E1M
E1 = Eaton model 16244 two speed rear axle, 17,500 lbs capacity, 5.57/7.75 ratios (Most of the model number is visible in your picture. Clean it with some degreaser and take another pic, you'll probably be able to see the whole label.)
M = Ford 7,000 lb capacity front axle with power steering.
