Does anybody know the specific dates that Ford raised the price over the last 9 months? My new truck is on its way and the dealer says that I'm price protected but seemed to be leery of the dates. So, I'm going to try and gather as much info as I can.
I took a picture on May 16th of the Build & Price main screen that shows the base pricing for the various trim levels (XL, XLT, Lariat, etc)...as I was curious of pricing increases to 2023 YM. I checked that screen 2 weeks ago and prices went up just over $500 since May 16th. So that price increase happened sometime after May 16th. Before that hey had a larger ($1k+ ?) price increase somewhere close to the New Year.
I seem to recall prices have gone up roughly $2300 since last December. I made so many changes to my order that I have no idea what it will cost if it gets built.
There were two $500 increases last summer. Then a $1200 one in December. A $1000 one in February. And then another price bump sometime later that varied, depending on trim and certain options.
From the time I ordered mine on 5/24/2021 until I checked prices a couple of months ago, my truck jumped $3700 in price! However I received my truck last September so the price increase was only $1000, but my dealer made sure my order was price protected and only charged me my originally agreed upon price. The dealerships get reimbursed for the difference so long as they sell it to the person that ordered it.

Wow. I am having a hard time seeing how these price increases will be sustainable. But with Ford's new CEO being against combustion engines and him pushing EVs hard maybe they are trying to steer customers away from ICEs.
These truck prices are not sustainable. The day of reckoning is almost here, if not already. I will not be buying a new truck anytime soon because
they are charging way more money than the trucks are worth. It's as simple as that. The new trucks are not worth the price! I am speaking for myself.
Price the others. It isn't just Ford raising prices.

I agree with this other than your day or reckoning comment, have you seen car lots lately, there's very few available, which means people are still buying. Prices aren't going any where but up until they quit selling at said price point.
With 250k miles on my 16 year old 6.0 I've been looking forward to a new order on a 6.7 for a long time now, most likely a final truck purchase as I keep/maintain vehicles until the wheels fall off. And just my luck the timing of it all prices are through the roof. I m going to have to get a good deal to be able to order a '23 MY, but waiting another couple years does not seem like an option and by then SDs may be hybrid or more expensive, or both. But I will not pay MSRP on a "truck" when a Toyota has the same exact same tech features for half the price.
Ford's new CEO is flat out horrible with the new direction he is pushing the company.
Sure, there is demand for new trucks. But like I said, I was speaking for myself. For the general public, $80.000 and up trucks are not going to be in widespread demand. Too many people are struggling.
In my area, Colorado Springs. The used truck market has slowed down, according to the used car manager at the Ford dealer. Another obstacle is getting people financed. Good credit is getting scarce!
