Well, I'm not as good of a mechanic as my dad was, but I'm trying. My dilemma right now is this...I thought I could DIY the front brakes with new rotors and pads but there are a few things I'm still questioning. Hope you guys can help.
are the brackets side specific? One has 1133 CMT and the other has 1139 CMT stamped (see pic)
Of course, the pins on one of the brackets were seized up and would not come out, even after taking it to a mechanic and having him heat it and beat it, now I need to purchase a new one and the pins, but not sure if (again) they are side specific?
Do the brake pads go in AFTER I get the brackets bolted back in place?
how do the clips actually go on the pads?
is there a website with an expanded picture of these parts showing exactly how they fit?
The 2012 brakes are not the same as the 2013 (even though 2012 was supposed to be a new updated model year, but I think are the same as 2011, yes or no?
Thank you all so much in advance.
this was the brake caliper bracket that the pins were seized up in and I need to replace
I have a 2011 F250 and just put a rebuilt caliper on the right front. I did the left front last year, as they both froze up. The rebuilt caliper comes with the caliper bracket and pins and may be cheaper than buying the bracket new. I do believe they are the same both sides but perhaps others can verify this.
Might try an auto recycler if you just want a used bracket.
I am awaiting backing plates rotors and calipers for the rear as they are all original and the backing plates have rotted out. For my way of thinking it makes sense to do the whole package at this point rather than a piecemeal approach.

Also the Cardone brackets are $20 at RA not including shipping. That does include a $5.40 core charge which is kinda amusing because I don't think you could ship the old one back for that, even using RA's FedEx pricing (which they extend to you on core returns if you want it)
Typically Cardone is sketchy for parts like p/s pumps and racks, but maybe they can't screw up a hunk of metal too much.....hope springs eternal
I replaced caliper brackets on a 2012 recenly. $20 each side from Oreilly. I had to take one back because the hole for the slide pin was not cleaned out.,poor quality control. 2011 and 12 are the same 2013 and newer different
