EPS MALFUNCTION
Well, Jack will be pleased, as I have bought FORScan and an OBDLink MX. still have intermittent Glow Plug #5 issues, but now I have a B1318 error which translates to “blown EPS Fuse” or EPS CM malfunction.
For the life of me I cannot find an EPS Fuse location. I have searched this and other forums, and even (Wait for it) read the manuals that I have…. No Joy.
Any help would be appreciated

I think that a health check of the charging system is in order and then a load test of the batteries.

Also, I'd recommend seeing what the PCM thinks the vehicle voltage is.

Yep. I broke my hand Sunday while rodeo-ing. I guess you aren’t supposed to do that at 75……. Wife says “no more bareback riding for you”. I’ll get to the Ford as quick as I can.

I have an Arabian I was riding take me on a trail making run. Not sure if what spooked him with a real
think of something he happened to think was there. He could be a real spook every now and then.

I like Arabians….feisty lil guys. My main horse now is an Appaloosa. Bought him off of the Indian res. He is a wild horse, but he loves me❤️ Big motor. Yeah I whacked my left hand leaving the chute, second time now. It was 8 years ago so I guess I forgot 🤪. I’ll get after the Ford if I can find some help.

One thing to look for is rodent chewing or battery cables that need cleaned/replaced.
I do miss that wild boy. He was fun other then when if spooked. I spent months training him as he was green broke
and then turned out with no one riding him for a very long time. After one bad day when he took the bit and dumped
me on the arena gate I only let him walk or trot for weeks. Then one day I was pushing him to as fast as he could go
at a trot and he broker one into the smoothest canter. His reward after that was to let him do more. A friend I used to
ride with took both her's and my hourse out into the big field and let them run. At that point he was so much easier
to control. I found that it always helped to have a second horse with us sort of support and a buddy to stay with.

Tough it out
Ok, rodeo fans……I got tired of waiting and jumped in and replaced the odd glow plugs and harness. Starts and runs great. It dropped the #5 glow plug warning but I am still getting “low battery (b1318)” although the battery reads 12.2 at the cigar port. I will remove and refresh the wiring as soon as I get my hand out of this ice water.😳

Usually B1318 is when the Instrument Cluster thinks the voltage is low.
12.2 volts is low btw. That is about 50% State of Charge ............ But then it is best to measure at each battery AND to check on what the PCM thinks it is (as posted above).
