Rather than have a can of paint mixed for my 65 F100, I only need enough to cover a repair area and came across a paint supplier who offers the same/similar color code (Chamotte Brown) in aerosol cans either base coat or single stage;and I do not know whether to apply a coat of base then a coat of single stage, or only apply one or the other??
Ok, what you have to use is whatever the truck was painted with.... meaning if it's a 2 stage BC/CC paint job then you have the 2 stage paint.... otherwise it's going to stick out like a "sore thumb". FYI- the local auto paint suppler can not only mix up the paint for you but tint it (fade) as well to make it match better (if needed) and they can mix up a small batch and put it in an aerosol type spray can as well...................
Thank you for U'r suggestions, yes, decided to go w/ the same 2 stage and found 1 of 2 local auto paint supplier's who actually mix the desired paint code requested. Intend picking up w/in next couple of days.
