My 89 bone stock 302 5 spd has dual shocks on the front. It doesn't have limited slip or any towing package. Is this standard ?in North carolina I wouldn't think it has a plow package . Any ideas guys?
My 1990 XLT with 302/AOD has dual shocks(Quadrashocks) front and back of the coil springs. Apparently this was a factory option best I can gather from Haynes Manual. What I can't figure out is if the steering damper/stabilizer was stock or option.
Well, to have the dual front shocks you either need to have the Heavy Duty package or the Tow package. Here is what they consist of.
Heavy Duty Package:
Tranny cooler
Oil Cooler
Front and rear sway bars
Limited Slip in front and rear axles
3-row radiator
Dual Front shocks
Tow Package:
Tranny Cooler
Oil Cooler
Front and rear sway bars
3-row radiator
Dual Fornt Shocks
Class 3 Tow Hitch W/trailer light hookup
For the trucks that don;t have either of these packages, that means someone added the brackets for the dual front shocks onto your Bronco at a later date. Hope this helps.
