I’ve been trying to solve this problem on and off for a while now. I’ve got an early ‘99 automatic 7.3 PSD with manual locking hubs. The truck has no problems going in and out of 4x4, high or low, will stay in 2wd just fine, but has a couple codes saying that it isn’t working. (I’ve manually checked by going under the truck and spinning the front drive shaft. No problems, spins freely in 2wd, locked up in 4wd. Audible clunk in 4lo) (additionally both lights come on, 4x4 and low range) I’ve put 1000 miles on it with this issue no problem, but I’m wanting to get these codes resolved.

p1832- Transfer case differential lockup solenoid fault
p1865- Transfer case contact plate short to ground
I’m thinking the problem’s going to be wiring or vacuum just from the amount of codes all at the same time.
The first two and likely the last has to deal with going to manual hubs instead of the vacuum hubs. You will have to convert back to vacuum hubs or just live with the codes.

I didn’t think of that, but that would make sense. It seemed off that everything worked but it thought it was wrong. Thanks.
I replaced the auto hubs with Warn manual hubs because I like to use "2W Low" for moving my FW aound while parking it. Wonder if manual shift transfer case throws those codes?

A manual shift t-case isn't capable of throwing any codes, the only electrical connection is typically 2-wire for the light. However if you put a manual 'case in a truck initially equipped with electric shift and didn't at least leave the shift motor plugged in I imagine you'd get t-case codes.
