I've been away from the forums for many years since I sold my Super Duty, but I'm considering returning to Ford with a Raptor.
I have three questions:
1) How can I tell if it has the Torsen front diff? Do they all or is an option?
2) I can't find the window sticker online. I know about most of the websites and can get other Raptor vins to come up, but not this one: https://www.windowsticker.forddirect...icker.pdf?vin= just says not available Per Carfax it was sold in Ohio originally so I don't think it's a grey market truck.
It seems to be fully loaded, just don't know how to tell about the diff.
3) It seems unmolested and has low 50k miles. Anything I should watch out for? Didn't hear any abnormal noises at start up or while driving. I got about a 20 mile loop in with it, including interstate driving.
I’m not sure how to tell without the window sticker but what I do know is that the Torsen was and has always been an option.
With that being said, and it would be cool to have it but, one really doesn’t need a Torsen.
Preliminary, it looks like the Torsen was included with the 802A for this year, which would mean this truck has it. I haven't made a decision yet, there's a 2019 about 50 miles away that I want to drive to compare as well.
When the 2023s come out, EcoBoost Raptors should drop some in price as many those who have the means will trade for V8s. Also there will be the generational drop in price too. Now might not be the best time to buy. But, if the price is right, no better time than the present as the 2023 V8 has been confirmed.

Maybe. I thought the same thing with the C8 Corvette dropping prices on C7s. That did not happen. Quite the opposite. All the press and attention, then limited supply, shot C7 prices up out of what I was willing to pay. Odd times in the markets.
I'm in no rush. Tomorrow, a month from now, next year. I'm holding out a bit to see if the Ranger drops and if you can actually get one, unlike the Bronco. I'd like to compare the Ranger Raptor to the F-150, as the sheer size of the F-150 limits the number of places I can use it more than a lack of capability does.
I doubt you're going to see much of a price drop because of the V8. Your average Joe isn't going to be able to afford it anyway. When I bought my 2017 SCAB the base model SCAB was just under $49,000. add $3400 for a base model SCREW. Now the 2022 base model is $70,000 and not easy to find without ADM. The loaded models are now $80K-$85K. The V8 Raptor R will be in the neighborhood of $100K plus ADM.
I've had my 2020 for 2.5 years and 30K miles and Vroom.com offered me $1K less than I paid for it. Several people on the Raptor forum (that don't rack up miles like I do) have sold theirs for more than what they paid a few years ago.

And dealers were offering pretty significant discounts on MSRP in some cases, so the spread is even larger. Now you have the warring faction of inflation on one side and higher gas prices on the other, though, and gas prices tend to depress the large truck market temporarily. Add in interest rate hikes making borrowing more expensive and less attractive and that's got to be a drag on pricing as well. I've been saving up for the last few years and can easily put 50% down if I choose, but 4% or or so is what I'm seeing for older model years. I can get 1.49% on new or 2.49% on later model used through my credit union, but anything older than 2020 doesn't count as 'later model".
I have a 2019 Raptor and contrary to what the post above implies - these are great trucks and worth the investment. The poster obviously has no personal experience with the Raptor. You can get the factory window sticker at the site below if you have the VIN and it looks like you do.
What do you mean? People doing dumb things with their Raptor or something problematic with the model itself?
I drove an F-150 Tremor and it's honestly a tough decision. They are both great trucks.
Yeah, I'd inspect a late model one well before buying. Some people like @unit may take good care of his, but some others don't. Some seem to think they are unstoppable off road. I have personally seen many Raptors abused and/or heavily damaged with low miles. Not much different than muscle cars, some are lovingly cared for and others are highly abused. What I'm getting at is look carefully, or get it inspected prior to committing to buy. I'd do that with any used vehicle actually.
And yes, I have never owned a Raptor. So according to the poster above, I have no business commenting or stating my opinion. However, I'd rather spend $60k for a brand new truck vs $60k for a 3-5 year old truck.

Some VINs show up there and some don't. I've read in a few places that Raptors don't show up any longer once sold, but I don't know. I do know I can see new ones through that, or through the Ford Direct link that the website gets them from.
I'm sure the Raptor is a great truck, but so is the Tremor. It'd be a much easier decision if one of them sucked. I think both are probably better in different contexts, I just have to pencil out which fits me better more times. If I lived in AZ or NM, Raptor right now, but I don't and the trails here are often tight for a normal full size. If I trusted Jeep more and they were faster than walking...

2 year old Ford certified Raptor in this case, but I get it. No signs of abuse other than a very light scrape on the front bumper that's invisible until you look for it. It's not bro'd out, other than a stubby antenna and a decent bed cover it looks stock. No rock chips, no signs it was ever actually off road. No mods under the hood, OEM air cleaner, etc.
With used prices the way they are and the ability to get 3% under invoice plus rebates on custom orders also makes it a tougher call.
