Hope you're all doing well. So the first issue I've had with my 17 since taking ownership is a failure in my Cold Side boost tube. Two reasonable sized holes developed on the top portion of the pipe. No CEL or real performance loss but I could smell diesel exhaust in the cab which is what lead me to the discovery. I've replaced both the Hot and Cold side with Pusher Intake Tubes. Nice quality pieces and installed really well.
What has me at a loss is directly after installing these pipes I've developed a code P0402: EGR A Flow Excessive. As far as I can tell I've got no leaks in the system, not loss of boost and no more smell of exhaust in the cab. Also the truck runs real well and strong.
This might seem like a silly question but do these 3" tubes require tuning since they are .50 inch larger than stock?
It's possible the issue is merely coincidence but I wanted to ask and be sure there isn't something I am missing before moving on to an actual EGR issue.
From my limited research on CAC pipes it seems that some require tuning, while others do not. Some of the manufacturers make 2 versions, one requiring tuning and one that does not. I would verify that the part# you installed does not require tuning.
Assuming the packing list is correct I received the Emission compliant version that shouldn't need tuning. I've reached out to Pusher to confirm.
Seems strange to me the Code would start directly after installing these pipes. But it did sit for a week so maybe I have a stuck EGR in the open position...
So I decided to re-install the OEM Hot Side pipe. Reset the code and took it for a 15 min test run. In the Test no CEL came on. It might be early yet but the test was further than the distant that the CEL started coming on.
I am wondering if the Hot Side they sent me is for the Off road version of their set?
Not really an answer to your question, but I can tell you I installed both hot/cold side Pusher tubes on my '19 F250,and did not tune, nor have I had any codes thrown. As was said above, maybe they sent the wrong pipes?I seem to remember them having 2 options.

Thank you! You wouldn't happen to have the part number for the HOT side would ya?
I've got to drive into town later and it'll be an hour round trip. If the CEL is to come on with the OEM HOT side re-installed it'll do it within that drive period.

Thank you for this feedback. Hopefully its not a coincidence and I actually have a failing ERG system.
As far as I can tell it's only the cold side pipes that come in a tune or no tune version. One with a throttle valve adapter(no tune) and one with throttle valve replacement(tune).
Back to the drawing board. Went on a 60 mile round trip and at about mile 55 the CEL came on with the same P0402.
Few things to take note of:
1: I have now noticed that my DPF clock (filter full counter) take longer to count up)
2: When I got home I immediately popped the hood. Thought I might look around. As I rounded the front of the truck looking things over I placed my hand on the right front fender (outside) and it was HOT. Like what the heck was that, HOT. That entire side of the truck was blistering hot. Against my better judgement put my hand on the EGR cooler and it burned me.
Now I am new to newer diesels and as far as I know this is normal. However it might not be and I feel its worthy of taking notice. I am starting to wonder if the EGR Valve is stuck open?
I'll continue to my journey and report back when I learn more,

I'll have to dig out my receipt and look.I'm at work for 2 more shifts,so it wouldn't be until Tuesday.I'd have to look to be 'positive',but I'm pretty sure this is the kit I ordered. https://pusherintakes.com/pusher-hot...ct-description

This is what I remember from the site when I ordered mine.Seems a little different now,but this is what I was looking for.
The one featured in the above photo looks just like my set up but red. I either have some leaky connections or I really have an EGR issue. Even with CEL truck runs well and strong. Other than the heat it seems to generate is there anything should be worried about with this CEL and driving it? It is my work but I do have options.

I would try a battery disconnect and see if the CEL will stay off. It should let the flows reset and normalize in the computer. Worth a try....
will doing the battery disconnect be the same as deleting using a BDX handheld Tuner? Its not for the truck but connected it allows me to see the DTC codes and clear them
I'll do a bat reset anyway.
I did just get done removing both tubes and went through the installed again. There were two spots on the cold side that might have been drawing in extra air. Pusher suggested "snug" on the t-bolts but snug wasn't very tight. Anyone use a specific torque value for these pips?
