This is my brother born in 1947. He worked his entire adult life in concrete construction. He never used sunscreen and if he did he'd sweat it off. And as I said earlier sun tan lotion didn't have SPF worth mentioning until the late 70's.
He cad cancer on his nose. They removed all the skin off his nose, took skin from his forehead, and flopped it down to cover his nose. He is cancer free today. Funny story: when he scratched his nose he felt on his forehead.
