Hi folks, I removed the instrument cluster on my 69 Ford F-250 in order to remove the dash pad, looks great now HOWEVER when I reinstalled the instrument cluster and starting her up I have the fuel / temp / oil pressure gauges now not working. All worked without fault before. I checked over the connections, fuses, etc and went through as much as I can incase I’ve nicked something when removing the screws but no joy. Could anyone point me in the right direction as to how can rectify the problem. I did think perhaps I’ve knocked out the grounding wires?? Any idea where they are located on a 69?
I pulled connections from the regulator and made sure of good contacts, I rechecked and tightened the grounding wire that’s directly behind the cluster but with no success on the gauges sadly.
I had a good look at the voltage regulator contacts and made sure they were clean and tight, I rechecked and tightened the grounding wire that’s directly behind the cluster but with no success on the gauges sadly.

The only way all three gauges will fail to work at the same time is the ICVR circuit. Disconnect the wire from anyone of the senders. Connect a test light or a volt meter to it. Test light should flash if you have the original electro mechanical ICVR or read a steady 5.5 volts on a volt meter if it is a solid state type. If you don't have voltage to the senders back up to the ICVR and make sure you have 12 volts to the IGN connector on the ICVR. The solid state type ICVR's are very sensitive to any voltage spikes and will die in a heart beat.

That regulator looks to be burned out, or at least the coil that is mounted to the regulator.
On top of the voltage regulator I came across the ‘noise suppression’ device that I believe has something to do with the AM radio. I removed this and reconnected and all 3 gauges are back working.
What flasher? Turn signal? Hazard (if equipped)? Something else?
While I've seen them snapped on to the back of some dash panels, I don't think I've ever seen them done that way on a Ford truck.
Got a pic of the one you're referring to?
