I have a 2000 X with an am/fm,cassette/cd with cd changer factory radio in it. I want to add a dvd player for the rear seats in the center floor console. My question is does the OEM radio have any type of aux inputs in it for the dvd's sound? If it doesn't is there anyway to get sound into the radio from an external source? I'd like to leave the stock radio in it
you mean a FM modulator....
i am more interested in finding out if there was another way other than a modulator to pump in the audio from the dvd into the OEM. If there is no other way though I will use a modulator instead of buying a new radio
i was up to wally world a few days ago and they have , i think
5.8 screen mini dvd and fm mod. pic on box looked like it went
on center console $229
i sell the same stuff in my stereo shop and i can't even sell so cheap!
i didn't look real close but some fm mods nowadays are wireless,
means ya don't even have to remove your radio
just plug the thing in your power adpt and go for it.
the mini i saw would also play burnt jpegs but not mpegs
good luck.
2000x
you may be able to buy a plug that connets a junction that will give you an aux in. that is only if you radio will control to sources. pie make a plug for fords that have factory video but no cd changer. the plug will fit between the connection of the radio and the changer. it will give a third box that a second plug will be needed to plug in with the rca inputs. just check with pie and see if they can help. i can not remember what p.i.e. stands for but most stereo shop us it to install after marker changers to stock radios as if they where oem.
