Have been through my shop manual for my 1965 F-100 and cannot find torque values for install of rear leaf springs. Looking for torque values for U bolts and front spring to frame bracket and rear (shackle to frame bracket & shackle to rear leaf spring).
Many thanks for directing me to the correct spot in the shop manual (perhaps I've been staring at it too long!)
I usually just tighten them till they moo, like a cow.
if that is not close enough, you can torque to bolt diameter, roughly. If they are 1/2" u-bolts you should be good at around 90 ft lb, 7/16 would get around 75. 9/16? 110-120 maybe. Same goes for shackle bolts. Grade 8 can go a bit more (5-10). I'm sure someone will be along with actual specs but this should hold your rig together.
