Hey guys, my sons 99 7.3, the HPX on the oil side started leaking, we don't have the stock plug to put back in. Is there a big box store equivalent that anyone has used? Thanks
I doubt it, try a hydraulics shop. I think there are three of those plugs in each head so pull one of them and take it with you. They are some kind of ORB but I can't remember what size. And you might want to replace the O-ring on the one you take out.

Yeah, I figured as much. He uses it for work, was fishing to see if anyone has used anything "off the shelf" to get by.
Probably gonna contact Clay at RiffRaff and get a new one sent out.
It was on the truck 15ish years before a leak, my son may have actually bumped it while doing something else under the hood.
5/16 "-5" o-ring boss plug. You'll only be able to find that at a hydraulic supply shop. To fix the leak you likely just need to replace the o-rings on the fittings.
I imagine that viton o-ring pack at harbor freight would have one that'd fit

Not really, there are a couple that are close but they will fail soon enough.
The thread is a 1/2-20 sae so it's pretty easy to match. If you don't have any luck let me know I've got some rolling around in a drawer I could mail to ya. They're my old ones from before ditching the o rings all together.
