I hit a large bump that shock the whole dash and the battery amp light starts to go in and out intermittently. So I pulled over and all connections were tight and secure.
I have replaced the alternator since the old one was black and had some soot. Battery is new, replaced the fusible link that feeds to the alternator.
connections from starter relay are clean as well as battery terminals.
I pulled the instrument cluster and found no loose connections.
Is there another fuse embedded in the wire loom somewhere that may have popped out? Really scratching my head on this one.
Have you verified the new alternator works with a multimeter? I've gone through two or three before finding one that actually work worked. I think its the regulator that usually goes bad on them, them they don't seem to rebuild that when the do the rest.
check the plug on the alternator. have someone wiggle it while you watch the dash. they are known for intermittent contact when older.
if there is any play at all in the plug, and replacement plug should solve the issue.

which plug? There is a black one with three wires and a gray plug with 1 wire.
ok Ill check both, the black plug is tight. The grey plug with single wire is very loose when connected.
When you wiggled them was the truck running and someone watching the light to see if it came on?
Other wise you will not know if that was the cause of the light or not.

Sure it is the battery light and not a check engine light?
I never heard of a battery light flashing let alone 3 times then off, and 3 times again?
It is either on all the time or off all the time.
You have a computer maybe hit up one of the parts stores and have them see if there is any stored codes in the computer.

After much electrical diagnosis and research I have concluded I do not have a battery/charging problem.
What initially manifested itself as a battery problem in association with the situation (hitting a large pothole, battery light illuminates) led me to believe that was the issue.
HOWEVER the battery light is incorrect, it is actually an AIRBAG LIGHT, the instrument cluster on my 1994 F150 is an incorrect replacement.
I count a code value of “32” when the light flashes. Horn and cruise do not work even with the TSB applied for the cruise.
