sun visor mounting screw size

This is a crazy question, for what is probably an equally crazy reason. Many moons ago, when I was using my 2004 F250 on the beach and for camping expeditions, I wanted additional storage space that I could reach from the driver's seat, so I cobbled together a full-width overhead shelf from 1/2" cedar boards, and hung it from the sun visor mounting holes. At the time, I couldn't find steel screws locally of the correct diameter and thread at the length I needed (longer than stock), but I happened to have on hand some nylon screws that worked. I figured I would just use those to test the concept, then order the correct steel screws. The shelf did what I wanted it to. I had initally planned to find a way to hang the stock visors from the shelf, but I'm pretty tall, and I found that the shelf provided enough shading that I didn't really need the visors. Unfortunately, like a lot of my projects (of which I tackle far too many), the "temporary" use of those nylon screws was prolonged to years and years. On a recent trip, the screws failed, and dumped the shelf in my lap. I have decided I won't replace the shelf, I just want to re-hang the stock visors. I no longer have the original screws, and the nylon screws I used for the shelf stretched so badly in the process of failing that I don't trust measuring them with a thread gauge. I spent some time on searches to try to come up with the correct screw size, to no avail. Does anyone here know what that size is? Thanks.

It's a shame this post got no replies, because that's quite a story. I'm glad nobody was injured. It would be amusing to see a video of the drop.

To answer your question, indirectly, and well over a year late, I'd swing by your local Ford dealer's parts department. They'll be able to look it up and give you a part number.
