I'll bring this thread back up because for me the Ford connected Nav sux. It has trouble finding places I input at times while Waze is right on the money. Often times if I decide to overshoot/undershoot a turn to go into a shopping center or Starbucks it will bring me back out onto the road going the wrong way and tell me to U-turn, hello, dually LB 176" WB doesn't really manage U-Turns in town very well. I cannot see myself paying for it unless either it gets better ot I learn it a bit better.
I picked up my Truck last night in Chicago, left at 3:45 am, and drove to Denver. 1045 miles. Long day, but I got to use the connected nav. I don't have cell coverage near my house, so I am stuck with it. I became friends with it. It isn't perfect, but it could be worse.

What I have found when it doesn't immediately find some place I input, it has been because it is spelled differently in the database than what it is in google maps.
But, every time I input an address it finds it with no issue, although it isn't updated with new roads very quickly.
Road near my house was completed and opened nearly two months ago, connected nav still doesn't show it, but google maps has it.
I am still on the fence about it and received my email about it giving up the ghost at the end of the month if I don't renew. My only issue right now is Ford showing the Nav expiring about 20 days before the 90 day trial is over. I talked to Ford and they said it was activated on May 2nd. I didn't pick up the truck and activate Ford Pass until May 19th so somewhere in the system is a glitch. I may go with a year of using it and see how it really performs. 90 days is just enough time to get a slight taste because of the amount of driving I do in the truck.

The dealer does the new activation, so they must have initiated it on the My 2nd date.
It's not great nav, very basic, but I renewed mine just so I wouldn't have it showing on the screen and not working.
At the end of the trial, if you don’t subscribe, there is no working navigation at all in your truck? That can’t possibly be correct, can it?
Yes, it is true. After the trial subscription expires, the only thing you'll see on the OEM navigation screen is a map showing where you are located. You won't be able to enter a destination and there will be no navigating directions provided to the driver. I have since learned how to use Android Auto and download Google maps to my cell phone ... all of which can provide navigation for free, even if there is no cell tower service available where you're located. Other folks use different tools such as Waze (sp?), but I'm not familiar with them.
Some other automakers have taken subscriptions to an extreme. An example is a heated steering wheel may be shut off unless an annual fee is paid.

Why would you think that couldn't be correct???
The Nav system is cloud based, works by the internet connection of the onboard modem, it is not embedded in the radio, so they can turn it on and of at their pleasure.
They allow the NAV screen to still show the map of where you are, and do that on purpose to try to get you to subscribe, which worked on me.
Trims higher than Lariat have embedded NAV, don't know if it's any better.
It won’t get better. It is a cheap car gps in an expensive towing machine. Fine if you never load it up, otherwise, buy a real truck or rv gps and move on.

I thought that but the truck was still sitting in the rail yard in Kansas on that date. I am sure they have some magic formula they use. I will probably just renew and call it mostly good.

That is what I do for towing. I use RV life trip wizard and GPS. It works fairly well but I am thinking of getting a dedicated RV/Truck GPS.

Maybe someone just entered the date wrong.
You could call them and see if they would change it to the correct date, get a few more free days.
