I have a 2006 F150 XLT Super Cab equipped with a "mini message center" in the instrument cluster. The message center no longer displays so I can not even tell how many miles are on the truck. Please advise where I can get it fixed or where I can fine a used replacement from a truck with close to the miles i think I have on the truck.
I heard that Ford wants about $1000.00 for a new one and I certainly am not interested in that.

When I was shopping for an XLT cluster for my '07 XL (to gain a tach) there were tons of clusters on ebay but it's nearly guaranteed whatever you get will also have some sort of issue, so plan on getting a cluster repaired no matter what you do.
If you buy a replacement (used) you'll want Forscan to download the ABD (as built data) and transfer to your new cluster. DON'T WORRY, if you have a laptop and are capable of posting on this forum you are more than capable of using Forscan while drinking a beer. This will NOT change the odo reading but will make sure your dome lights, etc work.
There are a lot of places on ebay also offering service for these clusters and most are much less expensive than CBM (sorry CBM). I used one out of Arlington TX a couple years back and zero problems on our '08 SuperCrew - everything works as it should still.
I need to send my '07 cluster in for the constant BRAKE light and ghost dome light and I'm going to see if the TPMS light can just be "unsoldered" so it can't illuminate
Okay, here is the deal. A Ford Tech is going to remove the cluster on Monday 6/6 and send it off to Circuit Board Medics. I really cannot take out the cluster and reinstall it because I have a bad disc in my back and cannot twist around very much. Circuit Board Medics will rebuild it with a 2-3 day turnaround MOL and a 1 year warranty. For $199.00 I really cannot afford to pass it up. I will post back when it is finished and let everyone know how things go.
Well the 2-3 day turnaround did not work very well but that seemed to be the fault of FedEx. It was returned to me about 2 days after they received it. It has been installed and works just like a new one except my truck mileage is exactly as it should be which would have been lost on a new part. This is great! Hope it never goes bad again but if it does I will use Circuit Board Medics again.

Sorry to hear about the shipping. Really glad the cluster is doing well! Thanks for working with us.
