So I got 2 emails from Ford in the last week. The first declaring that my 22 F250 would be built the week of June 27. Then, a week later, that was revised to July 18th. I can't imagine how screwed up that production system is, but perhaps skip the anticipatory conversation, rewrite the email to say "Your truck will be built soon", and only publish 'Done" information. Like "your truck is built 'date'". Anyway,, the chronology so far if it helps anyone....
Jan 23 2022 ordered,
May12 2022 Your truck will be built week of June 27.
May 20 2022 Your truck will be built week of July 18.
Build: Platinum with 7.3L, CCSB, antimatter blue, srw
My build week was 9/6, then I got assigned a build day of 9/7 (2021). On 9/8 I found out that my date was moved to 9/9 from the thread on BOF. My truck didn’t actually get built til 9/14. I never got an email saying the dates changed. However I figured out that mine got pushed back because of the Dana axle. My axle was manufactured on 9/12, then 2 days later my truck was built. Also, at the same time a commodity hold was published for the Dana axles. It looked like the shipment of axles that mine came in on was the last one they got for a while…
Anyway, I feel ya on the emails and time frames. Hopefully you’ll get it sooner than later!

I absolutely, 100 percent agree with you. Ford should learn they have a quality issue with their communications (let alone all their recalls) and only tell a buy their product is being built when it really is. I would be so much more satisfied and trusting of Ford if they would just not tell me anything predictive and instead just say - hey! - we're building it now.
This experience has really soured me on Ford. Too bad I don't think the other 2 big truck guys are better or have a better product. Maybe some foreign company can step in as they did with small cars long ago.

Dear Ford, stop trying to predict things. Place as much focus on buyers with orders for Super Dutys as you put on electric vehicles. Thanks. (I know - they don't read this stuff, but it make me feel better)....
Delays are a sign of the Covid times. My F-350 has had two delays, but it is in route with an ETA of first week of June. From ordering to eta is about 7 months. A friend’s order for a new Dodge was placed in September of 2021. ETA unknown
I’m thankful I can get a new truck, but I’m more thankful that I’m a 3-time cancer survivor.
I am just thankful we were able to replace our vehicles with new last year. My wife's Jeep Rubicon was the easy one, built and delivered in 6 weeks, good communication from the manufacturer. The truck was ordered shortly after the Jeep arrived and I bailed on my order for a truck I found on the lot after they delayed my build twice. Sadly, I think finding a new truck on a lot right now is nearly impossible. I can definitely sympathize with the waiting game and poor communication from Ford, they are doing a really poor job of handling customers orders right now.

In my case, the only communication I had from Ford was:
1. Your order has been confirmed.
2. Your order has been scheduled.
3. Your order has been built.
4. Your order has been shipped.
Like I mentioned above, my order was not built the week that it was supposed to be built. IIRC, I got my actual build "day" from the trackers, and then I was informed that my date had been bumped up 2 more days from the guy at BOF, which it still didn't get built then either... I never received any emails from Ford saying "Here's your build day..." or "Hey, we are moving your build day/week." I know lots of folks are getting those emails that their build weeks are getting changed, however, I don't think there is much Ford can do about this, and is their way of trying to keep the customer informed. I do believe that they could somehow give us better information along the way, but I personally don't know how they would do that. So at this point, it seems like they are sending out the very basic emails: confirmed, scheduled, built and shipped. The others being sent are "in good faith" towards their customers. I guess you're saying though that you would rather not even get the scheduled email, so just confirmed, built and shipped. For me, it was nice getting the "scheduled" email though (even though it was wrong) so that I knew that they still had my order and it was moving along in the process... even at a snails pace! So I agree, their communications methods suck, but at this point it seems like they do only send out the most up to date information they have. But then things happen, which is to be expected in this day and age... and I don't see it getting any better. I'd say this is only the beginning...
Exact same thing just happened to me. My initial order was 12/3/21
Build : 2022 CCLB 6.7 Platinum all options
What build date did you get on your truck? I'm curious because I ordered a F350 Platinum 4x4 CCLB with the 6.7 and the usual items that have delayed trucks on 12-9-2021 and I was hoping to here something soon. It's pretty much the new version of the truck I sold that's in my signature picture .

Im in the same time frame with nothing yet. F-350 SRW 6.7L CCSB Platinum ordered 12/2. Removed 5th wheel prep about a month ago.
Then this week I find out massaging seats will be deleted immediately by Ford and they reduce price $300.
Dealer locked in trade value for my 2020 F-350 CCSB Lariat at $74,000. New truck X-Plan price $77,809 so it originally was only $3,809 plus my truck. Now with 5th wheel prep and Massaging seats removed it drops X-Plan price to about $77,000 or my trade and $3,000. Amazingly I got a $2,500 PCO recently that the dealer locked in so my out of pocket cost will only be less than $800 after all fees, title tax etc. My 2020 is paid for.

Just in time inventory. When commodities are being provided by countries who hate us as a nation. That policy of receiving goods in that manner is supported by the masses, and this is the end result. Ford is scheduling based on predicted delivery of commodities. When they do not arrive on time, Ford then needs to reschedule the build date. It is what it is, thanks to American voters. Place blame where the blame is deserved.
Not contrary to the op, I agree Ford could improve the notification emails they send. Personally I tried to not think about it until my build was scheduled, then expected delays to the initial schedule but there wasn’t any. Truck arrived exactly when it was said to, should pick up next week. Even had some constraints (upfitter, bedliner). Sounds like the massaging seats are now the problem
